Healthcare Assistant Lead (HCA Lead)

Location: Cadogan Clinic, Sloane Street, Chelsea, London
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (40 hours per week)
Shifts: Variable shifts, Monday to Sunday (early shifts from 7am, late shifts until 8:30pm)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Healthcare Assistant Lead to take a key leadership role within our clinical support team. This is a hands-on position that combines high-quality patient care with day-to-day supervision, coaching, and operational support for the HCA team.
Working across outpatient consulting rooms and clinical areas, you will act as a role model for best practice, ensuring consistently high standards of care, smooth clinic flow, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with consultants, nurses, and senior managers to support service delivery, team development, and continuous improvement.
This role is ideal for a senior HCA ready to step into leadership, or an existing HCA Lead looking to develop further within a premium clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, support, and mentor the Healthcare Assistant team on shift
  • Act as the first point of escalation for HCA-related clinical or operational issues
  • Support injectables clinics, minor operations, mole mapping, and chaperoning
  • Ensure excellent patient experience throughout the outpatient journey
  • Support senior managers with audits, SOP adherence, and regulatory compliance
  • Contribute to rota coordination, onboarding, and training of new HCAs
  • Maintain high standards of infection control, documentation, and confidentiality

What You’ll Bring

Essential
  • Significant experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a clinical or hospital setting
  • Confident, approachable leadership style with strong communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of GDPR, patient confidentiality, and CQC standards
  • Flexible, proactive, and calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
  • NVQ Level 3/4 in Care or equivalent
  • Care Certificate
  • Phlebotomy skills
  • Experience supporting minor ops or outpatient procedures
  • Background in a 5-star or premium healthcare/service environment
