Post-Operative/Recovery Nurse

Permanent employee, Full-time · Clinic

About us
The Cadogan Clinic is a multi award-winning, day-case hospital in the heart of Chelsea, specialising in plastic surgery and dermatology. Founded by renowned plastic surgeon Mr Bryan Mayou and leading dermatologist Dr Susan Mayou, we are proud to treat over 20,000 patients each year, pioneering safe and effective cosmetic care in a purpose-built, CQC-registered setting.

We are now seeking a dedicated Recovery and Post-Operative Staff Nurse to join our warm, professional team — with a focus on delivering outstanding care to patients throughout their recovery journey. If you are a compassionate, reliable nurse with a passion for post-operative care and recovery, we’d love to hear from you. Join us and be part of a close-knit clinical team that puts patient experience and clinical excellence at the heart of everything we do.
The Opportunity
As a Staff Nurse specialising in recovery, PACU, and post-operative care, you will play a vital role in supporting our patients immediately after surgery and throughout their outpatient recovery period. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team across our three operating theatres and nurse-led dressings clinic, ensuring patients are closely monitored, reassured, and receive compassionate, safe care as they regain their strength.

You’ll also work closely with our consultants and surgical teams, ensuring continuity of care from theatre discharge to wound healing — supporting the smooth delivery of day-case surgery and contributing to best-in-class clinical outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse passionate about post-operative care, who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment and is looking to develop within a highly respected clinical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, individualised nursing care in the post-anaesthetic care unit (PACU), ensuring safe patient recovery from sedation or general anaesthetic
  • Monitor and manage patients’ post-operative condition, escalating appropriately when required
  • Deliver wound care management and provide clear post-operative advice in our dressings and wound care clinic
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, and recovery team members to ensure a safe and seamless patient experience
  • Document all clinical activity and patient observations accurately in line with best practice and regulatory standards
  • Provide emotional reassurance and practical guidance to patients in recovery, ensuring their safety, dignity and comfort at all times
  • Maintain clinical environments to the highest standards of hygiene and safety
