We have a unique opportunity for an experienced staff nurse to join our well-established, friendly team at our thriving, day-case, plastic surgery hospital; The Cadogan Clinic, in the heart of Chelsea.
Our multi award-winning clinic is co-founded by our world-renowned plastic surgeon Mr Bryan Mayou, best known for introducing liposuction into the UK, and his wife Dr Susan Mayou who is our leading consultant dermatologist (as featured in the Tatler Beauty and Cosmetic Surgery Guide 2022). With innovation at our heart, we continue to pioneer the latest techniques in cosmetic healthcare, treating over 20,000 patients each year.
The Opportunity
Location: The Cadogan Clinic, 120 Sloane Street London SW1X 9BW (close to Sloane Square, South Kensington, Knightsbridge, and Victoria stations)
Salary: £36,000-38,000 (full time annual salary; depending on experience and skills).
Overtime payment of £30/hour for all overtime hours above full-time contracted hours. Significant opportunity for overtime.
Additional shift enhancement payments / overtime as per policy/ On-call payments as per policy
Contract Type: Permanent, full time, 40 hours per week
Shift patterns: VariableShifts with participation in the on-call rota on rotation. We provide a complimentary taxi service if our team are required to work an unexpected late shift (beyond 10pm)
Purpose and Vision
Working as part of a team of experienced theatre and outpatient staff, we are looking for a professional and knowledgeable staff nurse to join us; to provide exceptional care for our patients. Our staff nurses ensure the delivery of individualised care for our patients pre and post-operatively; in recovery and pacu; as well as working as part of the post-operative dressings and wound-care clinic. Building excellent relationships with consultants and patients is an important part of the role, supporting the theatres team and promoting best practice in all areas of regulatory compliance. Our clinical team benefit from our career pathways approach, providing opportunity for progression within other clinical specialisms, multi-disciplinary theatre skills development; technical progression, or leadership and people management opportunities as part of a personal development discussion.
Role Requirements/ Skills & Experience
Essential
· 1+ year experience in a pre or post operative ward setting.
· 6+ months experience on a pacu ward.
· Registered to practice in the UK with valid NMC pin.
· Positive, flexible, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Attention to detail with foresight.
· Basic understanding of patient care in day case surgery.
Preferred
· Experience working in the private sector.
· Wound care management experience.
· Experience working in a busy environment - Be able to prioritise a constantly changing workload along with meeting patients’ demand ensuring both clinical care and the safety of patients is not compromised.
· Good IT skills and ability to use clinical data systems
· Relevant phlebotomy experience.
